Florida Licensing & Install Rules
Florida requires a Class A or Class B HVACR contractor license from DBPR for installs above the handyman threshold. Homeowner DIY on owner-occupied residence is permitted but requires a mechanical permit and hurricane-code-compliant outdoor mounting in coastal counties.
