R-454B (marketed by Honeywell as "Solstice N-41") is a blend of R-32 (68.9%) and R-1234yf (31.1%). Its key advantage:

This makes R-454B compliant with current and foreseeable EPA regulations.

Performance: R-454B vs R-410A

Here's what homeowners actually care about — does the new refrigerant work as well?

For practical comparison: R-454B is less flammable than hair spray, cooking spray, or the gas in a standard lighter. The A2L classification is a regulatory category, not a practical household hazard.
