Wire the outdoor unit with 14 AWG copper on a dedicated 15A double-pole breaker (or single-pole at 120V), with a disconnect within sight of the condenser per NEC 440.14.

Install Difficulty — Professional Install

This is a professionally-installed condenser that requires a licensed HVAC technician with EPA 608 certification. The tech will pull a vacuum on the line set to 500 microns, pressure-test with nitrogen, release the factory charge, and commission per MrCool's startup procedure. Budget 1 full day for install on a single-zone system. The system supports line set lengths up to 164.04ft; longer runs are available as accessory kits. Plan the shortest practical route — every 10ft of line set adds roughly 2% capacity loss. Ships with R-410A refrigerant. R-410A is a mature, widely-serviced refrigerant; service technicians and parts are available at any HVAC supply house.

Operating sound level ranges from 33 dB(A) on low to 39 dB(A) on high — the low end is whisper-quiet, below a normal conversation (60 dB) and comparable to a library reading room. The indoor blower offers 4 fan speeds plus auto mode, letting you trade airflow for quiet operation in bedrooms while running louder in living areas.

With an impressive SEER2 rating of up to 17.4 and an HSPF2-4 rating of up to 10, its enhanced heating capacity ensures optimal performance. Constructed from painted galvanized steel, the unit's side-discharge design, slide-out blower, self-diagnostics panel, and removable filters make maintenance simple and easy. Effortless installation is possible by an HVAC technician, as the unit is compatible with the optional MRCOOL® No-Vac® Quick Connect® Line Set. Pre-charged with environmentally friendly R410-A refrigerant, this line set removes the need for vacuuming or flare welding and is kink-resistant. It also provides versatile installation possibilities due to its adaptability to various configurations. If required, an optional heat kit can be acquired separately. The unit also includes a wired thermostat and wireless remote. In the unlikely event of any operational concerns, the air handler is backed by a reassuring 10-year warranty for parts and labor, offering you peace of mind. Furthermore, registration is not required for the included labor warranty.
