MRCOOL Signature 48K BTU Heat Pump Condenser — Model Details

What this specific model is sized for, how it installs, how it performs, and what it costs to run.

Room & Space Coverage — 48,000 BTU

The MRCOOL Signature 48K BTU Heat Pump Condenser delivers 48,000 BTU of cooling and heating capacity, sized for spaces up to 2,000 sq ft in standard 8-ft ceiling rooms with average insulation. At this capacity the unit is typically used for open-plan main floors, large garages, pole barns, finished basements, and small commercial bays. For homes with vaulted ceilings, heavy sun exposure, or poor insulation, plan on ~20% more BTU per square foot than the nominal coverage.

Install Difficulty — Professional Install

This is a professionally-installed condenser that requires a licensed HVAC technician with EPA 608 certification. The tech will pull a vacuum on the line set to 500 microns, pressure-test with nitrogen, release the factory charge, and commission per MrCool's startup procedure. Budget 1 full day for install on a single-zone system.

Everything you need to know about this product

What size room will the MRCOOL Signature 48K BTU Heat Pump Condenser cool?

At 48,000 BTU this unit is sized for rooms up to 2,000 sq ft under standard 8-ft ceilings with average insulation. Add 10–20% for sun-exposed rooms, poorly insulated spaces, or ceilings above 9 ft.

Do I need a licensed HVAC installer?

Yes — this unit is professionally-installed. The installer needs EPA 608 certification to handle the refrigerant, plus standard HVAC tools (vacuum pump, manifold gauges, nitrogen kit). Expect a one-day install on a single-zone system, more on multi-zone.

How fast does HVACZAR ship this unit?

Transit time is 3–7 business days via truck freight (with liftgate delivery) for outdoor units and UPS Ground for accessories. Tracking is emailed at pickup.

What if it arrives damaged or I change my mind?

Inspect the unit before signing for freight delivery. If there is visible damage, note it on the delivery receipt and refuse the shipment — we ship a replacement at no cost. Unopened and unused units can be returned within 30 days for a refund less outbound shipping.

What is the warranty on the MRCOOL Signature 48K BTU Heat Pump Condenser?

The MRCOOL Signature 48K BTU Heat Pump Condenser comes with a 7-year manufacturer warranty when purchased from HVACZAR, an authorized MrCool dealer. Register your unit after purchase to activate full warranty coverage.
