Frequently Asked
Common questions
EasyPro vs DIY — which should I buy?+
Both use pre-charged Quick Connect lines. EasyPro has a simpler 2-wire control connection and updated aesthetics. DIY has more BTU sizes and a longer track record. For a first-time DIY install on a single zone, EasyPro is slightly easier; for multi-zone or larger systems, DIY has more options.
Is EasyPro really easier to install than DIY?+
Marginally — the wiring is simpler (2 wires instead of 4) and the documentation is cleaner. The HVAC portion (mounting, line set, refrigerant) is identical. Both still require a dedicated electrical circuit, which usually means hiring an electrician.
What sizes does EasyPro come in?+
EasyPro is currently available in 9K, 12K, 18K, and 24K BTU single-zone configurations. For multi-zone, look at the DIY 5th Generation line.
